Your PC Slowing Down - Know the cause!

Hi! Everyone. We are at the end of year 2010. In a few weeks time we will transcend to year 2011. So this is the time to check on our PC system. Whether you thinking of upgrading or buying a new PC, knowing a some PC knowledge would save you some money & time. So I would like to share with you a few tips on how to keep your PC in good running condition.

PC Troubleshooting Check-sheet:-

1. Processor Overheating
    a) Dust maybe has accumulated inside the processor heatsink thus preventing the fan cooling the processor.
    b) Thermal paste between processor & heatsink have worn out.
    c)  Processor Fan might not be working properly.e.g. worn out bearing, jiggling sound of the PC case, etc.
Solution : Check&Clean your PC heatsink & Motherboard at least every 2/3 month from any dust or foreign objects that might prevent cooling fan from reaching the processor.

2.  Bad Ram
a) Malfunction Ram also contribute largely to your PC performance. If your PC suddenly hangs, restart by itself or getting a Blue Screen(BSOD-Blue Screen Of Death) , Ram might be the cause. Possible reason to this might be due to accumulated dust that causes electric short which is the No.1 public enemy of any PC component!
Solution : Replace a new Ram!

3. Harddisk
a) Hardisk will eventually become fragmented after a few weeks of usage. So
b) Often if you experience your PC always hangs, longer time to view files/folders/partition or having BSOD, it possible that the HDD has a / several bad sector.
Solution :-
                 i. Defragment your hardisk at least on a weekly basis.
                ii. Do a disk check and error correcting.
               iii. Re-install again your operating system.
               iv. Install a new Harddisk

4. Registry
a) System registry also need to be cleaned by using registry cleaner/fixer. One that we would like to recommend is to use Registry Winner 6.1.11.30. It will scan for error in your and safely optimize your system setting to operates in fast and stable condition.
Solution :-
               i. Find a registry cleaner & do scan for system error
